What is Art? Vancouver Art Gallery

On our last day it was raining and miserable, so we had to cancel our plans to visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge and opted for Chinese food at Phnom Penh in Chinatown and visited the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Usual admission is $24 per person, but on Tuesday nights it is entry by donation — The requested donation is $10, but we gave about $2 in coins, and we felt that was about right.

I don’t know.  I’m no expert on these things, but really, is this really art?  And is it really worth $24 per person?

It reminded me of a similar experience of when I went to on a high school field trip.  I scoffed while staring at a dress covered in sea shells and mumbled “anybody could make this” and my teacher’s reply was “yes, now that it’s been done“.
