We will soon be off to Alaska! Flying out from Sydney and hopping on the 7-Day Celebrity Infinity Cruise ship from Vancouver.
This will be our first Celebrity Cruise, and I am curious to see how it compares to the Princess and Norwegian Cruise Lines.
So, the big questions…
What to pack?
The average temperature for August – September is going to be anywhere between 5° to 19°C (or 42° – 64°F for our non-metric friends).
That’s a few degrees below what us Aussies call Winter, so I will be packing warmly – and it’s important to mention that it is pretty much always raining there, so also bring a raincoat!
Celebrity doesn’t do the whole ‘formal night’ of ball gowns and tuxedo’s, but a more relaxed (yet still formal) ‘chic’ dinner attire. Find it here.
Got fur babies? Always plan arrangements for your pets well in advance. Pet-boarding is going to munch into your much deserved holiday money.
This will be our first time away from Charlie and Teddy. Separation anxiety will surely set in (with the humans). However we have found them both a good family home off MadPaws. But I’m sure they’re not going to be very happy with us when we return!
Yes. Because we are Australians touring under 90 days, we need to apply for the visa waiver program (VWP) which you can do online right here <— and costs about $14 USD. At time of writing, under the VWP, time spent in Canada, Mexico, and adjacent islands count towards the maximum of 90 days stay allowed under the program. But check out the Canadian eTA requirements on their website.
